Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. Pictures has tapped “Snatch” and “Sherlock Holmes” director Guy Ritchie to direct a live-action adaptation of DC Comic’s “Lobo,” a title about a foul-mouthed hyperactive bounty hunter from space. Don Payne wrote the most recent script, and Joel Silver, Akiva Goldsman and Andrew Rona will be producing the project, which will be a co-production between Weed Road and Silver Pictures. The film will focus on Lobo, a seven-foot tall, blue-skinned, ultra-violent, and indestructible anti-hero bounty hunter who drives a flying motorcycle and comes to Earth seeking four fugitives who are bent on wrecking even more havoc than him. Yahoo! Movies and Superherohype.com have two brand-new character posters for the upcoming Guy Ritchie film “Sherlock Holmes”, one featuring Robert Downey, Jr. as the titular detective hero and the other with Jude Law as his faithful friend and sidekick Watson. The film details the two, along with the femme fatal spy Irene Adler (played by Rachel McAdams) battling the machinations of the supposedly-deceased Satanic Lord Blackwood (Mark Strong) as he takes his revenge on London. “Sherlock Holmes”, starring Robert Downey, Jr, Jude Law, and Rachel McAdams, hits theaters Christmas Day 2009.
