After receiving record-breaking ratings for its fourth-season premiere earlier this month, ‘Californication’ has been picked up for a fifth season, Comingsoon.net is reporting. Showtime Networks President of Entertainment David Nevins confirmed the news, adding that the comedy series will air twelve episodes next season. David Duchovny, who won a Golden Globe in 2008 for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical for his portrayal of womanizing author Hank Moody, will join the rest of the cast and crew to begin production in the spring.
