Velvet Revolver Leaks The Performance of Slither from Live in Houston

Velvet Revolver has just leaked their performance of “Slither” from their upcoming DVD, Live In Houston, which hits stores on November 16th. Filmed in 2005, the concert captures the band touring in support of their award winning debut album, Contraband. The full length tracks are intercut with brief interviews with the band members talking about how Velvet Revolver came to be. The setlist focuses on Contraband, but also includes cover versions of tracks by Guns ‘n’ Roses and Stone Temple Pilots highlighting the history of the group members. Casting Announced For Super

According to a report by Variety, Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page and Liv Tyler have all been announced to star in the superhero genre-spoof comedy “Super”. James Gunn (“Slither”) wrote the script, and will also be directing the project. Wilson plays an average guy with no special abilities or powers at all, who takes on the heroic wrench-wielding alter ego of the Crimson Bolt after watching his wife succumb to the charms of a local neighborhood drug dealer. Marc Abraham Talks The Thing Remake

Latino Review snatched up filmmaker Marc Abraham, who funded such flicks as the Dawn of the Dead remake, Air Force One, The Hurricane and Slither, who talked about the foreseeable remake of John Carpenter’s 1982 masterpiece, The Thing. In the interview, Abraham says the remake will be a prequel to Carpenter’s film. “It’s going to be taking place in the same time frame,” he states. Translation? The new installment is going to end where Carpenter’s picks up, which could actually give better insight and understanding to the cult hit horror fans know and love.
