The official second trailer for director Marc Webb’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ has been officially released by Sony. The trailer for the superhero film, which stars Andrew Garfield, Rhys Ifans, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Sally Field and Martin Sheen, runs for two minutes and 24 seconds. ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ follows Peter Parker, played by Garfield, an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a child. Two Screenwriters To Write 3D-Animated Popeye Film

I’m not sure if anyone has been wanting a 3D-animated “Popeye” film. I’m not even sure if kids today know who Popeye is. But it’s being made, and now we have news of the screenwriters who are attached to the film. According to CinemaBlend and The Hollywood Reporter, two screenwriters have been tapped to write the screenplay for the film. 25 million discs destroyed in Sony warehouse fire caused by London riots

Here’s a musical Daily Shock for you: the London riots have destroyed a lot of Sony musical property, 25 million pieces of property to be exact. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a fire at the Sony’s DADC warehouse has destroyed 25 million discs, hurting the inventories of over 150 independent labels. Also lost among the 25 million were DVDs, Blu-rays, and video games. The people responsible for the fire, three teenagers, were arrested; two of the teenagers, aged 17 and 18, remain in custody, while the third one, aged 17, was released on bail. Sony announced its three year $20 Million investment plan to support development of PlayStation Network exclusive titles and a Pub Fund program aimed at independent developers. A German website Konsolentreff published early photos of the Resistance 3 PS3 bundle box showing a new logo that says “PSN Pass.” The logo said: “Network features only available in countries that have PlayStation Store.” but no other details were provided. Sony Redesigning PlayStation Network

According to a report from Reg Hardware, Sony is currently working on a total visual redesign of PSN. The redesign will apparently make PSN more like Steam and Xbox Live. These changes would affect the PlayStation Store rather than the main XMB. An unnamed source told Reg Hardware that Sony is trying to de-clutter the service in favor of “an aesthetic layout with logically marked sections and rolodex lists”.
