With the PlayStation Network now out of commission for two weeks and counting, two members of the committee, Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (R-CA) and Congressman G.K. Butterfield (D-NC) asked Sony a series of questions on how this could happen, and what steps are Sony going to take in order to make it better with the millions of consumers who were victimized by these events. During a detailed press conference tonight in Tokyo Sony revealed what they will do to reimburse there 3 million subscribers when the service is turned back on. They announced the “Welcome Back” program which gives all existing PlayStation Network users 30 days of PlayStation Plus for free. Current PlayStation Plus members will receive 30 days of additional service at no cost. They also are giving “selected PlayStation entertainment content” for free to download. Kaz Hirai who is the president and chief operating officer of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. will address the media on Sunday afternoon about the PSN outage. The network has been down for ten days due to an “external intrusion”. The company announced on April 26 that customer information may have been compromised in the security breach. He will also be addressing other important issues including updates and when the PSN network is scheduled to become operational again. It’s official. He’s back! Deadline is reporting, former Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger is now attached to star in “The Terminator” sequel, a movie directed by “Fast Five” director, Justin Lin. There were rumors about Schwarzenegger dawning the iconic leather jacket and sunglasses again but now it has been confirmed. There is no script yet but the franchise package is being shopped around to various movie studios including Universal, Sony and Lionsgate. This package is reported to cost a studio upwards of $25 to $36 million. Sony just unveiled the Playstation Tablet computers S1 and the S2 yesterday, which will be available globally this fall. The S1 has a single 9.4-inch display while the S2 features two 5.5 inch screens in a clamshell design similar to the Nintendo 3DS. The dual screens can be used as one combined larger screen or separately to allow video to play on the top screen with input commands on the bottom screen. Both tablets are PlayStation Certified, which mean users are able to download and play PlayStation One titles through PlayStation Suite. Both tablets are equipped with Android 3.0, WiFi and 3G/4G. Yesterday the Sr. Director of Corporate Communications, Mr. Patrick Seybold posted an update on the official PlayStation Blog saying that the outages will continue and that Sony is rebuilding its system to “further strengthen our network infrastructure.” His statement can be read in full below: “We sincerely regret that PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have been suspended, and we are working around the clock to bring them both back online. Dave Franco is stealing some of the spotlight from his older brother James by being cast as a villain in the upcoming ’21 Jump Street’ movie adaptation, deadline.com is reporting. Franco is set to play Eric, the most popular kid at his high school, who’s also a drug dealer and the target of a police investigation.
