After the whole Logan Lerman fiasco, we got a bit of a break from the Spider-Man reboot casting craze. Well, it’s time to get back to it because the latest list is all the rage and now, theĀ LA Times is tacking on two more potentials, one of which is none other than Kick-Ass himself, Aaron Johnson. Makes sense, right? The guy did a fantastic job portraying a normal kid who suits up to fight crime; considering the only difference is that Peter Parker ends up with some real superpowers, playing Spider-Man should be no problem for Johnson. The Spider-Man series is getting completely rebooted with a new cast and storyline, Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios announced on Monday, January 11, and will hit theaters during the summer of 2012. The movie will be based on a script written by James Vanderbilt, and will bring Peter Parker back to high school, once again focusing on the teenager grappling with his transformation into the superhero. John Malkovich has confirmed in an Italian TV show that he is to play the winged Spider-Man villain the Vulture in the upcoming “Spider-Man 4″ film. This comes on the heels of Marvel’s upcoming “Thor” taking “Spider-Man 4″‘s May 2011 release date, causing the already-troubled production to now have no set release date, though they are aiming for a summer 2011 release. UGO is reporting that Dylan Baker has confirmed his return as Curt Connors in the upcoming “Spider-Man 4″, directed once again by Sam Raimi. It is unknown if Baker as Connors will continue simply as the college science professor and friend of Peter Parker/Spiderman, or if he will be one of the villains in the upcoming film. First introduced in 1963 in “The Amazing Spider-Man”, Professor Curt Connors inadvertently becomes the villainous Lizard after experimenting with reptilian DNA to replicate their regenerative powers, hoping to regrow his own lost arm.
