Even before there were rave reviews for Splice coming out of Sundance, there was merely a fantastic synopsis and intriguing clip. Now that we know director Vincenzo Natali is sending something seriously promising our way and the June 4th release date is set, let the advertising campaign begin. The last clip was actually rather cute and didn’t hint at the film’s terror whatsoever. This is not the case with the new trailer. In fact, there’s nothing sweet about this footage at all. Have you seen the clip from Vincenzo Natali’s Splice? It’s freaky. Actually, maybe a little too strange, but for some reason, it works. Apparently Warner Bros. thinks so too. After the film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, the studio nabbed distribution rights and now has reportedly settled on a release date, June 4th. With Get Him to the Greek, Killers, Marmaduke and Ondine all hitting theaters the same day, it seems as though Warner Bros. is throwing Splice to the wolves.
