J.J. Abrams has confirmed that the sequel to his hit 2009 film ‘Star Trek’ will be the next project he’ll work on, Cinema Blend is reporting. The news comes as his latest sci-fi directorial effort, ‘Super 8,’ is set to hit theaters on June 10, 2011. Paramount, the studio behind the first ‘Star Trek,’ has promised to release the sequel on June 29, 2012. However, the ‘Fringe’ co-creator and producer wouldn’t commit to that date, instead saying “hopefully we’ll be able to pass information out sooner or later.” Abrams added that he would rather take his time to make a good film than rush to get the sequel out by…
