If you really were waiting on news about the upcoming 3D remastering of “Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace,” then you’re in luck, because according to Slash Film and TheForce.Net, the 3D version of the first part of George Lucas’ epic story is set to be released to theaters February 10, 2012. Star Wars fans rejoice; the time has finally come! All six Star Wars film will hit Blu-ray next year! The news came straight from George Lucas himself while at Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando. He said all of the films will arrive in a massive box set “utilizing the highest possible picture and audio presentation, along with extensive special features – including documentaries, vintage behind-the-scenes moments, interviews, retrospectives and never-before-seen footage from the Lucasfilm archives.” It’s been five years since the franchise’s last installment, Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, hit theaters, so it’s about time. Although the final original episodes of STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS have aired for the remainder of 2008, there’s no dearth of CLONE WARS fun available at Starwars.com to keep fans busy until Jan. 2, including the first-ever online “marathon,” which begins on Monday. Yoda takes on an entire droid army in the season premiere of STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS, an all-new animated series premiering at 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, on Cartoon Network. In the first episode, “Ambush,” Jedi Master Yoda and three clone troopers must face off against Count Dooku’s dreaded assassin Asajj Ventress and the massive Separatist droid army to prove the Jedi are strong enough to protect a strategic planet and forge a treaty for the Republic.
