“The First Avenger: Captain America” director Joe Johnsto, whose “The Wolfman” hits theaters February 12th, has revealed that Marvel Studios is planning a June start for for filming on the big-screen adaptation of Marvel’s famous character, Captain America. A Captain America movie has been in the works since 1997. The shield-wielding, American flag-themed character first appeared in 1941in Marvel Comics’ predecessor Timely Comics”, and was created by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon. “The First Avenger: Captain America” has a tentative release date through Paramount of July 22nd, 2011.
