Kim Novak, the star of Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller ‘Vertigo,’ is claiming the acclaimed new silent film ‘The Artist’ violated her work, E! Online is reporting. In an interview with Variety, the actress started her interview saying “I want to report a rape. I feel as if my body-or, at least my body of work-has been violated by…’The Artist.’” Novak added that the leading Academy Award contender “could and should have been able to stand on its own without depending upon Bernard Hermann’s score for ‘Vertigo’ to provide it more drama.” The actress added that she felt the combined efforts of Hermann, Hitchcock, co-star Jimmy Stewart and herself were all violated.  [ Read More ]

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Well, for some of us. With the end of the year fast approaching, the awards nods are rolling in and this past week a big list was revealed – the Golden Globe nominations. Members of the New York Film Critics Online met Sunday, Dec. 11 for their 12th annual awards meeting to vote this year’s films for their prestigious NY Film Critics Online Awards for 2011. The group voted in 15 categories, and it would seem that the winners of the awards, particularly the Best Film and Best Director awards, will be indicative of how the Academy will hand out Oscars next year.
