The Gotham Group has optioned the underwater adventure novel “Dark Life” by Kat Falls for a big-screen adaptation. The book is being published this May 2010 by Scholastic. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic future where most of humanity struggles to survive on remaining land after the oceans rose and swallowed most of it, though some people do settle and prospect underwater. Variety is reporting that The Gotham Group has picked up the film rights to Craig Yoe’s “Secret Identity: The Fetish Art of Superman’s Co-Creator Joe Shuster”, which reveals Shuster’s non-Superman work on a BDSM underground comic series called “The Nights of Terror” from the 1950s, when Shuster had become estranged from DC Comics. The comics featured lookalikes of the now-classic characters Superman, Lois Lane, and Lex Luthor, in various bondage and S&M situations were named as an inspiration behind a torture and murder crime spree of the era.
