In an admission that will come as a considerable disappointment to a former coworker (who, for the record, is decidedly not Goth), my initial memories of “The Nightmare Before Christmas” were somewhat fuzzy. My first viewing of producer Tim Burton and director Henry Selick’s stop-motion animated film, not too long after its original home video release, was marred with, umm, distractions. Tim Burton’s stop-motion animation masterpiece “The Nightmare Before Christmas” has been released and re-released before. But the new release of “The Nightmare Before Christmas” will show the film in the clarity only Blu-Ray can offer. According to the press release, “The Nightmare Before Christmas” will become available for the first time ever to own on Disney Blu-ray 3D and/or 3D Movie Download, on August 30, 2011. “The all-new 3D presentation of The Nightmare Before Christmas will be available as a 3-Disc Combo Pack (Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD/Digital Copy hybrid) and/or a 3D Movie Download,* providing fans and families alike with several great ways to enjoy the film,” states the release….

According to the folks over at Ain’t It Cool News, Oingo Boingo front man Danny Elfman perhaps best known for his work on Batman and The Nightmare Before Christmas with director Tim Burton has officially signed on with Universal Pictures to score “The Wolf Man” by director Joe Johnston and starring Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins (King Lear) and Emily Blunt. Danny Elfman who has been nominated for 3 Academy Awards, recently completed “Hellboy II: The Golden Army”, “Wanted” and the upcoming drama “Milk” by director Gus Van Sant.
