The Office Introduces The Pyramid

The Office Introduces The Pyramid Tablet

Friday, September 30th, 2011

First was the red Swingline stapler, originally out of production but made popular again by “Office Space,” now fellow “Case of the Mondays” show “The Office” has premiered its own item, a tablet called the Pyramid. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the device debuted on Thursday’s episode. Dwight (Rainn Wilson) showed the Dunder Mifflin employees the tablet, saying the tablet was in the shape of a pyramid “[s]o you can tell your clients: Unleash the power of The Pyramid.” However, the tablet comes with a huge battery pack and a memory booster, which brings the entire tablet at around 3 pounds. This, of course, doesn’t go well with the rest…

DVD Review: Terminator, Cedar Rapids, Elephant White, The Captive City and The Explosive Generation

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

Its sequel, also from director James Cameron and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, was a worldwide smash that stood at the forefront of a special effects revolution, but a lot of folks forget the brutal, streamlined efficiency of 1984′s The “Terminator”, which laid all the groundwork for the labyrinthine Skynet conspiracies of a trio of other futuristic-killing-machine flicks as well as assorted media tie-ins and even, eventually, screaming Christian Bale soundboards. The film was part of distributor Sony’s first wave of Blu-ray titles five years ago (and arguably the most preferable, given company like “50 First Dates”, “Hitch” and “xXx”), but gets another pass with this special, limited edition Blu-ray release, in…

James Spader In Talks to Replace Steve Carrell on The Office

Saturday, June 25th, 2011

James Spader is currently in talks with NBC to replace Steve Carrell on ‘The Office,’ Entertainment Weekly is reporting. While the Emmy-winning actor’s character Robert California was originally in negotiations to become the new manager of the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin, the mockumentary’s producers are now considering having Robert replace Kathy Bates’ character Jo Bennett as the CEO of the paper company. Bates will reportedly leave her ‘Office’ role to solely focus on Season 2 of her other NBC show, the legal dramedy ‘Harry’s Law.’ However, Spader’s deal isn’t final yet, and no scripts have been written yet for ‘The Office.’ If he does join the show, he will…

Ricky Gervais Criticizes The Office Season Finale

Sunday, May 22nd, 2011

Ricky Gervais has criticized the hour-long Season 7 finale of the American version of ‘The Office,’ writing on his blog that “If you’re going to jump a shark, jump a big one,” TVGuide is reporting. The actor, who created and starred in the original BBC version of the sitcom and executive produces the American adaptation, also expressed his distaste on how long Steve Carell’s version has been on the air. The British comedian, who reprised his role of David Brent on the American ‘Office’ earlier this season, also wrote that he assumes “most people know I didn’t do the U.S. remake for the art. I did my version for the…

Ricky Gervais talks about the finale of The Office

Friday, May 20th, 2011

Ricky Gervais took to his blog recently to talk about the finale of “The Office”, saying that this American version of the show doesn’t quite compare to the original British version, which he created and co-wrote and co-directed with Stephen Merchant. He also starred in the show as the boss, David Brent. Watching The Office finale may remind some of the Chris Martin episode of Extras. “It’s only Warren Buffett…….. What are you doing in a paper merchant’s in Scranton? It’s mental.” If you’re going to jump a shark, jump a big one. Still we’ve a had a good innings. Ha ha. I assume most people know I didn’t do…

NBC Release 2011 Fall TV Schedule

Sunday, May 15th, 2011

NBC has released their 2011 Fall TV schedule early and from the looks of things, it looks like NBC has a firm plant on reality TV on Mondays with “The Sing-Off” and a new drama “The Playboy Club” (the title alone will get viewers). NBC is moving their usual Monday favorite, “Chuck” to Friday night. I don’t this is a problem so much as this is the final season of “Chuck” anyway and their loyal and vocal fanbase will most likely be home on a Friday night (they’re mostly geeks). Right now, NBC has ordered 13 episode for the fifth and final season of “Chuck”, but if it has good…

Steve Carell to Leave The Office Before Season Finale

Saturday, January 15th, 2011

Steve Carell, who has played Michael Scott on NBC’s hit comedy series ‘The Office’ since 2005, won’t wait until the current season’s finale to leave the role that helped make him famous, TVGuide.com is reporting. The showrunner for the mockumentary, Paul Lieberstein, has said that instead of finishing the season, as originally planned, Carell will be featured in a number of episodes until April. After Carell leaves, the American spin-off of the hit British series will feature four more episodes for its seventh season, which will dramatize his departure. The remainder of the season will focus on what happens to an office when a manager leaves. Numerous characters will vie…
