Green Lantern Gets Release Date

Warner Bros. has announced release dates for a slew of upcoming projects, including the highly-anticipated big screen adaptation of DC Comics’ “Green Lantern”, which will hit theaters December 17th, 2010. The story will follow test pilot Hal Jordan, who is selected by the alien Green Lantern Corps to become one of them after the death of one of their greatest members, Abin Sur. Hal is chosen for being “utterly honest and without fear”, and must uphold the oath of the Corps to “let no evil [...] escape my sight” as he battles evil both on Earth as well as across the universe. Martin Campbell in Talks To Direct Green Lantern

“Casino Royale” director Martin Campbell is reportedly negotiating with Warner Bros to officially be tapped as the director of “Green Lantern”, a live-action adaptation of DC Comics’ emerald-green ring-slinging space cop character. Producer Donald De Line will be producing alongside Greg Berlanti, who was initially going to direct. Marc Guggenheim Talks Green Lantern
