In the realm of movies, 2010 looked great in terms of box office receipts. Yogi Bear Gets Director

The Hollywood Reporter says that long-time visual effects supervisor Eric Brevig has signed on to direct the film adaptation of the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon Yogi Bear. Brevig, who recently directed Journey to the Center of the Earth under Warner Brothers, says Yogi Bear will be featured in 3-D using a combination of live action and CG similar to Alvin and the Chipmunks. Yogi Bear will also be produced under the Warner Bros. name. Brevig’s visual effects resume includes blockbusters such as The Day After Tomorrow, Pearl Harbor, Men in Black, Total Recall and The Abyss.
