The trailer for one of the potential Oscar-nominated movies of 2011, “J. Edgar,” has been released. I say it’s a potential Oscar-nominated film not only because it’s the (supposedly) unflinching, realistic biopic about a former U.S. president, but it is also directed by Oscar veterans Clint Eastwood and Leonardo DiCaprio. The trailer for the film is below the post, and I have to say, that it looks really good. The trailer really brings across the totalitarian nature Hoover had over the country. And the aging makeup on DiCaprio isn’t so bad either. It would seem like the film is positioning itself to tell a “Citizen Kane”-style story. We shall see…

If you love the classic fairy tale “Red Riding Hood,” then you might want to prepare yourself before watching the awesomely gruesome trailer for the upcoming “Dog Soldiers: Legacy” web series and “Dog Soldiers” sequel. The trailer, “Dog Soldiers: Red,” which is certainly not for the faint of heart, is below the post. Also below are some production stills. D. Eric Allen, Kismet vice president, produced the Ryan Lightbourn-trailer and many of his family members cast, including his grandmother Pat “Nan” Allen who plays the anxious grandmother and his sister Emmy Allen who portrays “Red”. The trailer was shot in a weekend in Northern Arkansas in August 2011. “The trailer…

The trailer to the sequel to the gross-out horror film “Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence)” has now been released, premiering on Yahoo! Movies. And the trailer is plenty gross, even though not much is actually shown. The movie would already be gross even if you don’t already know what the plot is, but the plot of the movie involves another doctor who develops a sexual fetish after watching the DVD recording of the the first film and goes about putting the human centipede idea into motion. This film was so over-the-top that it was banned in the U.K. The BBFC issued this statement about the film (which also contains spoilers,…

Almost flying past the radar, a new movie poster and trailer video has bee released for director Kenneth Lonergan’s movie Margaret that has finally been unveiled after a very long six year wait. The hold up was due in part to some financial issues and lawsuits on Lonergan’s behalf, but finally the flick has received the green light, and the golden touch of Martin Scorsese and editor Thelma Schoonmaker, who are both putting their final touches on the September 30th release. Margaret features a star line up of leading lady Anna Paquin of True Blood fame, as well as Matt Damon, Mark Ruffalo, Allison Janney, Matthew Broderick, Kieran Culkin and…

Having read “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,” I know that Hunter S. Thompson is a bit wacky. Well, “wacky” is an understatement. So if “The Rum Diary” is anything like “Fear and Loathing,” then the movie adaptation of “The Rum Diary” is going to be crazy! The film adaptation was developed by Johnny Depp, Thompson’s friend, as well as Depp’s production company Infinitum Nihil. The book, set in the 1950s, written in the 1960s, but published in 1998, is about a journalist who moves from New York at a newspaper in Puerto Rico. The book reflects Thompson’s own life because he went to Puerto Rico from New York to…

Cowboys & Aliens not do it for you? Well, we’ve got another Western on the way and this one is a bit truer to form. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were supposedly killed during a standoff with the Bolivian army in 1908, but in Blackthorn, Cassidy (Sam Shepard) is back. Turns out he’s been laying low in a Bolivian village, but has grown restless and opts to return to the US. When a run-in with a young criminal (Eduardo Noriega) catches him off guard, Cassidy is forced to reassess his plans and come back, guns ablazing, for one final adventure. Directed by Mateo Gil, Blackthorn is set to debut…

A few days ago, ShockYa posted the first look at Daniel Radcliffe’s thriller “The Woman In Black.” Now, Yahoo! Movies has released the trailer of the film. And it’s creepy, complete with prerequisite scary children, creepy dolls (I’m not sure which are creepier: the moldy porcelain dolls, the clowns, or the monkeys), and the scary window shot. You can check out the trailer here as well as below this post. On the whole, the film looks like it’s going to be genuinely disturbing. Kinda weird that it’s coming out in Feburary, a month which is deemed by movie-makers and movie-goers as a month where sub-par movies go to die, because…
