While the Cheat Sheet is normally packed with the usual suspects – The Hunger Games, The Dark Knight Rises and Twilight, just to name a few – this time around, we’ve got some rather unique stories to share. Unfortunately for Howard Stern, he’s part of the bunch as a hole in his team led to the leaking of Super 8. Another punch to the gut also goes out to 3D technology, as a recent study proves the extra dimension does nothing to enhance a story, rather only offers the potential for discomfort. How many horror movies have you seen where the hot young college kids drive out into the middle of nowhere for some boozing, only to be stalked and ultimately hacked to death by hillbillies? Well, Eli Craig is here to turn the murderous hick stereotype on its head with the horror comedy Tucker & Dale vs Evil. Tucker and Dale (Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine) are redneck buddies hanging out in their ramshackle vacation house in the mountains. In the midst of a summer drowning in studio superhero movies, how about one that’s a little more authentic? We’ve got another film courtesy of the HBO Documentary Summer Series on the way and this one features some real crime fighters. Superheroes focuses on real-life superheroes (RLSH). There are more than 300 registered in the US that suit up in homemade costumes and hit the streets to take down local evildoers. The film centers on Mr. Extreme, a hero that patrols the streets of San Diego in neon and camouflage, as well as the members of Brooklyn’s New York Initiative as they strive to eradicate crime. There are also interviews…

There’s a reason filmmakers are churning out found footage films; they’ve got an inherent draw. Writer-producer Ryan McCoy is the latest to jump on the bandwagon with his film Evidence, a piece that follows four people into the canyons near LA. There’s no witch, rabid virus or ghosts here, rather a mysterious creature wreaking havoc on their home movie. The film’s trailer is up and running and not only proves the sub-genre’s got some juice left in it, but that McCoy knows how to work with the format and director Howie Askins has got the eye to bring McCoy’s script to life. On top of that, the guys must have…
