Dark Knight Rises Photos Celebs Doing Drugs Top 10 Celebrity Scandals Hunger Games Saga Photos

Apologies for the Movie News Cheat Sheet‘s tardiness, but it was for the sake of Steven Spielberg and Giancarlo Esposito! Totally worth it, right? I’d like to think so, but this Cheat Sheet is packed with some pretty exciting material. Well, the idea of Scott Disick playing Patrick Bateman might not be the most thrilling tidbit in there, but we do have a new director for The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and a slew of posters from what should be some of the biggest movies of summer 2012. The trailer department is lacking courtesy of the one for What To Expect When You’re Expecting dropping just after the massive New Year’s  [ Read More ]

As usual, this Movie News Cheat Sheet is packed with text, but this week, much of that text is geared towards describing the slew of brand new stills that dropped over the past seven days. Not only did we get seven new images from John Carter, but a bunch from The Dark Knight Rises and Prometheus, too. In casting news, word just got out that Gary Oldman turned down the part of The Colonel in Akira and, in rather off-beat casting news, the industry is shocked to learn that a casting associate on Super 8 as well as a number of other child actor-heavy productions is a registered sex offender.  [ Read More ]

There’s also some casting drama surrounding Tyler Perry’s latest, courtesy of the recently married and recently discovered Kim Kardashian’s role in The Marriage Counselor. New Poster And Trailer For Titanic In 3D Released

Posted by monique On November - 17 - 2011 0 Comment

When “Titanic” was first released in the 1990s, it was a huge success– “Twilight” and “Harry Potter” levels of success. Most women were in love with Leonardo DiCaprio after this film and went to see the film three or even twelve times. And, similar to today, James Cameron was the veritable “king of the world.” Now, it would seem that Paramount is trying to bring that level of frenzied adoration back with the theatrical re-release of “Titanic” in 3D. Paramount has released the poster and new trailer for the re-release, both of which can be seen below the post. If you loved “Titanic” back in the day, I’m sure the  [ Read More ]

The theme of this week’s Cheat Sheet? Casting. Well, for the most part. We’ve got the best of the best including J.J. Abrams’ hopes to cast Benicio del Toro as his villain in Star Trek 2 as well as a slew of potential recruits for Warner Bros’ Akira. It’s been confirmed that Jennifer Lopez is producing a Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego movie, but now the question is, will she star in it, too? Then there’s Andy Serkis who just earned a solid paycheck for signing on for Rise of the Planet of the Apes 2 as well as subsequent Apes films. Yes, this Cheat Sheet is certainly  [ Read More ]

Think about how many new movies hit the big screen a weekend. Must be a lot of films in the works at once, right? Most certainly and this edition of the Movie News Cheat Sheet is a testament to that. We’ve got a handful of casting updates including the possibility of Joseph Gordon-Levitt joining Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained as well as news that Steven Soderbergh might have finally found his Man from U.N.C.L.E., Bradley Cooper. Word also arrived that MGM might pick up Eminem’s Southpaw after the production was dropped by DreamWorks while Universal moves forward with its Battlestar Galactica feature by hiring a writer. But, of course, we’ve also  [ Read More ]

Ever wonder how many projects go into development only to never see a green light? Well, there’s a lot, but that doesn’t stop studios from announcing potential projects. Not only do we have a Farmville movie in the works, but one about Steve Jobs and one about Dr. Seuss, too. Of the bunch, the latter two are the most likely to come to fruition while Farmville could be a ways away. Then again, even if a Farmville movie does happen, how much of the narrative could really be based on the game? Also in the development stage is the big screen version of the TV show Friday Night Lights. While  [ Read More ]

Can you feel the chill in the air? Winter’s coming! Okay, so many of you likely don’t live in the northeast and this is the Movie News Cheat Sheet, so there’s little room for TV references here, but fall is right around the corner! Even with Oscar season approaching, our Academy Awards potentials aren’t getting much love at the box office. After a weak start, Warrior took a tough fall and this weekend newcomer Drive lacked the zest to earn it the #1 spot, or even the #2 one for that matter. In other dark news, Nicolas Cage is apparently a vampire and Tim Burton’s take on Dark Shadows looks  [ Read More ]

You know what’s great about this week’s Movie News Cheat Sheet? Instead of using the information for office or school conversation-starters, you can take it to your Labor Day celebrations. Let’s just hope your holiday weekend is better than Apollo 18 and Shark Night 3D‘s. While The Help continues its box office domination, those two prove that the majority of moviegoers know the difference between campy horror fun and sheer garbage. In other troublesome news, both Napoleon Dynamite and The Hangover Part II are in the midst of courtroom battles, the Napoleon Dynamite production company duking it out with Fox Searchlight and Warner Bros. facing a lawsuit from an injured  [ Read More ]

Sure, it’s fun getting early peeks at upcoming productions, but it’s a different story if those first looks are coming from anywhere else, but the studio in charge. Hearing that John Travolta, Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme may be in The Expendables 2 from the Nu Boyana Studios CEO? Good. Seeing official images of Anne Hathaway, Henry Cavill and Rihanna in full costume for The Dark Knight Rises, Man of Steel and Battleship respectively? Awesome. A parody video by Miles Fisher starring the entire cast of Final Destination 5? Bloody fantastic! Amateur photos and video of folks hanging around the set of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises? Now  [ Read More ]

Trailer For Red Tails Released

Posted by monique On August - 2 - 2011 2 Comments

The pet project of George Lucas, a film called “Red Tails” has a trailer released for film fans’ consumption. The movie, starring Terrence Howard, Ne-Yo, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Nate Parker, David Oyelowo, Tristan Wilds, Method Man, Michael B. Jordan, Andre Royo, and Marcus T. Paulk (from “Moesha”!), tells the story of the Tuskegee Airmen as they fought the enemy in WWII and racism in the American Air Force. Since I am an Alabamian, I’m proud to know that a film about the Tuskegee Airmen has been made, but I’m also irritated that George Lucas is behind it. Granted, he didn’t direct the film–Anthony Hemingway is the director and Lucas only  [ Read More ]

The trailer for the Hasbro game-movie “Battleship” has been released, and for the most part, the trailer makes you wonder why Universal even needed the game as a basis for the movie. The trailer (embedded below) shows the main characters–Taylor Kitsch as Alex Hopper, Liam Neeson and Admiral Shane, Alexander Skarsgard as Stone Hopper, Rihanna as Raikes, and Brooklyn Decker as Sam–in their establishing relationships and roles before the big threat of the film, a ship of unknown origins, threatens the navy ship most of our main characters are on. And, like all alien invasion films, the alien ship (or ships?) are also a threat to the safety of the  [ Read More ]

New Year's Eve trailer hits the web

Posted by monique On July - 27 - 2011 0 Comment

“There’s going to be more celebrities here than rehab,” says Katherine Heigl’s cahracter in the newly-released “New Year’s Eve” trailer. While the character was talking about people being in Times Square for New Year’s Eve, that statement could have applied to the movie itself. Just like its predecessor “Valentine’s Day,” it seems like everyone who’s alive in Hollywood is in this movie. The trailer, which is embedded below, shows a lot but really nothing at all except for fluffy, happy, easy-going rom-com movie tidbits. Basically, the story is the same as “Valentine’s Day,” except that Ashton Kutcher and Jessica Biel are playing two different characters (I assume Hector Elizondo, who  [ Read More ]
