According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wanted writers Derek Haas and Michael Brandt have been hired on to pen the script for the delayed second installment by Universal. Angelina Jolie has dropped out of the planned sequel to the 2008 action hit ‘Wanted’ to instead star in ‘Gravity,’ Vulture is reporting. Since the actress walked away from the project, Universal has decided not to go ahead with the film, instead of recasting the role of assassin Fox. ‘Wanted’ director Timur Bekmambetov was supposed to helm the sequel, based on a script by Evan Spiliotopoulos. Superhero Hype is reporting that Timur Bekmabetov has confirmed that the tentatively-titled “Wanted 2″ is in the works, a follow-up to last summer’s adaptation of “Wanted”, the cult comic book by Mark Millar. Bekmabetov told “RIA Novosti”, a Russian news site, that “In July we will start preparation for the film. I think in the late autumn or winter shooting will be performed. Comic book writer Mark Millar (“Wanted”, “The Ultimates”) is speaking out about the decision to have screenwriter Evan Spiliotopoulos attached to Universal’s “Wanted 2″, which will be based on a story by Chris Morgan.
