Pantelion Films Acquires U.S. Rights To Will Ferrell's Casa De Mi Padre

Pantelion Films announced Wednesday that it has acquired the U.S. rights to NALA Films and Will Ferrell’s Gary Sanchez Productions’ “Casa De Mi Padre,” starring Ferrell as well as Gael Garcia Bernal, Diego Luna, Genesis Rodriguez, Efren Ramirez, Adrian Martinez, Pedro Armendariz, Jr. and Nick Offerman. The Spanish-language film is a homage to classic westerns and telenovelas and will be released March 16, 2012. Will Farrell will be in the producer’s seat for comedy film “He’s F***ing Perfect,” a comedy bought by Fox 2000, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film is written by first-time screenwriter named Lauryn Kahn, and Ferrell, along with his partner Adam McKay, will be producing the film through their company, Gary Sanchez Productions. Kahn used to be McKay’s assistant. According to the site, the deal is supposedly with in the $1 million range and has gotten Hollywood’s attention despite the spec script market’s slow downturn. Remember a while ago when Shockya reported Will Ferrell was developing what was then simply called his “Spanish language comedy”? Well, the trailer for said film, “Casa de mi Padre”, is now online. Dare I say the film looks awesome? The trailer, found below, looks awesome, at any rate. But it does seem like the film has all of the elements together for it be a great film.
