Variety is reporting that acclaimed director Sam Raimi (the “Evil Dead” and “Spider-Man” films) has signed on to direct “Warcraft,” a live-action film adaptation of “World Of Warcraft”, the fantasy video game franchise. Legendary Pictures and Blizzard Entertainment are mounting the film, with Warner Brothers distributing and co-financing. Charles Roven, who produced “The Dark Knight”, is attached to produce.
The “Warcraft” universe, first launched in 1994 with the first game, is about a fantasy war between the two races, the Horde and the Alliance. The game has since developed a global fanbase and expanded the franchise to include books and comics based in the world of the [...]

Strap on your battle gear, BlizzCon 2008 is headed to the Anaheim Convention Center in California on October 10th through the 11th, 2008. Blizzard Entertainment, the creators of World of Warcraft, Diablo and Starcraft have officially announced that tickets are now available for the show at $100.00 per person. BlizzCon will be loaded with all sorts of tournaments, where skilled players can with up to $25,000 playing Warcraft III and World of Warcraft. Both players and teams will further compete in North America, Europe, Korea and Taiwan.

- Dispel effects will no longer attempt to remove effects that have 100% dispel resistance.
- Parry Rating, Defense Rating, and Block Rating: Low-level players will now convert these ratings into their corresponding defensive stats at the same rate as level 34 players.
