Class is beginning to assemble for the new Professor Xavier, James McAvoy. Sources all over the web have been pouring on the X-Men: First Class updates all of which sound promising, but none of which are official. First up is rumors that Aaron Johnson could go superhero on us again. Filmonic‘s got a photograph of Johnson hanging out with McAvoy and director Matthew Vaughn. Bryan Singer to Produce X-Men: First Class

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Bryan Singer, who directed the box-office hit ‘X-Men’ and its sequel ‘X2,’ has reconciled his differences with 20th Century Fox, the studio behind the big screen adaptations of the classic comic book. The director will be back on board to produce ‘X-Men: First Class,’ after the studio saw his treatment for the film. Their relationship previously ended when Fox didn’t sign Singer fast enough to direct the third installment in the series, ‘X-Men: The Last Stand.’ The director later teamed up with Warner Bros. to helm its classic comic book adaptation, ‘Superman Returns,’ which was released the same year as ‘The Last Stand.’ Brett Ratner, who directed ‘Red Dragon,’ was…

Wolverine 2 Begins Filming In January

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Wolverine is sharpening his claws for movie #2. As reported by THR, Hugh Jackman will travel to Japan to film next January. Christopher McQuarrie’s script is good to go “and will be very different than the first film.” How different? Love story different. Apparently round two will focus on a storyline from Frank Miller and Chris Claremont’s comic book. It’ll still include the usual Wolverine beat downs, but it will be a “beautiful story’ with a romance featuring a Japanese actress at its core. X-Men Origins: Wolverine took in a whopping $373 million worldwide, but did anyone actually love the film? Hopefully whoever is hired to direct will seize the…

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Electrix is reporting that Tim Pocock, who played a young Scott Summers/Cyclops in the summer smash “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, spilled the beans that he’ll be reprising his eyebeam-wielding mutant role in 20th Century Fox’s upcoming planned “X-Men: First Class”. Written by Josh Schwartz, the film will reportedly be loosely based on the 2006 comic of the same name, which told new stories about the young original X-Men, as well as retelling classic early “X-Men” stories. Pocock recently Twittered that he is working on an Australian TV series up through February 2010 and then was going into “X-Men: First Class”. Backing this up is “Wolverine” producer Lauren Shuler Donner recently having…
