In this outrageous, over-the-top and truly shocking mockumentry, subtitled “A Social Experiment”,  director Andrew Treglia looks at tech mogul Alki David and his role as ringmaster to the BattleCam community he created. David plays the part of an outsized Dr. Evil (even sitting in a throne and stroking a Pomeranian) as increasingly wild stunts are performed on his behalf. The film also looks at his companies FilmOn and Hologram USA and his success in the entertainment and tech world (and his staff performs in the movie as themselves).

Celebrities like Andy Dick, Janice Dickinson, Kato Kaelin, Fred Durst, Dave Navarro, Eric Roerts, Chuck Zito, Rampage Jackson, Cory Feldman and Ron “The Hedgehog” Jeremy join this sometimes shocking journey into the darker recesses of humanity on the internet, all in the spirit of freedom of expression. It’s hard to tell which stars are in on the joke and which aren’t (did the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills show up thinking this was a normal Pinto Grigio party?), which stunts are real and which aren’t (wanna nail your scrotum to a 2×4 anyone?). By the end, you’ll question your sense of humor, your resistance to Schadenfruede in the face of humanity’s plight, and, indeed, your own grip on reality.

The trailer is supporting the feature’s release. ‘Lord of the Freaks’ can now be viewed on digital platforms around the world, including FilmOn and iTunes.
