According to IMDB, other announced cast members include Gary Oldman (&#8220;The Dark Knight Rises,&#8221; &#8220;Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban&#8221;), Samuel L. Jackson (&#8220;The Avengers,&#8221; &#8220;Iron Man 2&#8221;), Joel Kinnaman (&#8220;Safe House,&#8221; &#8220;Easy Money&#8221;)as the title hero, Abbie Cornish (&#8220;Limitless,&#8221; &#8220;Sucker Punch&#8221;), Hugh Laurie (&#8220;House M.D.,&#8221; &#8220;Sense and Sensibility&#8221;), and Jackie Earle Haley (&#8220;Watchmen,&#8221; &#8220;Shutter Island&#8221;). <\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/heat-vision\/jay-baruchel-robocop-jose-padilha-joel-kinnaman-353696\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, Baruchel will possibly portray the head of marketing for Omnicorp, the company responsible for building the cyborg cop. The film will be directed by Jose Padilha (&#8220;Elite Squad: The Enemy Within,&#8221; &#8220;Elite Squad&#8221;), and the screenplay is written by Nick Schenk (&#8220;Gran Torino&#8221;), James Vanderbilt (&#8220;The Amazing Spiderman,&#8221; &#8220;Zodiac&#8221;), and Joshua Zetumer. <\/p>\n<p>This role for Baruchel is on the heels of his role in &#8220;Goon&#8221; (which he also co-wrote).
