James Cameron, the director of the highest grossing film of all time, ‘Avatar,’ has said the inevitable sequel in his proposed trilogy won’t be ready until 2015 or later, Comic Book Movie<\/a> is reporting. The filmmaker’s confirmation comes after producer Jon Landau said reaching the proposed release date of late 2014 would be unlikely.<\/p>\n

Cameron is still working on the screenplays for both the second and third films in the ‘Avatar’ franchise. He then plans to move to New Zealand, where he and his family will live for at least a year and a half while he shoots the sequels<\/p>\n

The ‘Avatar’ director has also said that the two sequels will likely be shot in Peter Jackson’s Wellington production studio. The ‘Hobbit’ director’s nearby WETA Digital visual effects compound will finish the special effects for the two ‘Avatar’ sequels.<\/p>\n

Last month Cameron teased at the possibility of a fourth ‘Avatar’ film, and said he likely wouldn’t film any movies non in the series in the near future. However, he later said talk about a fourth film was premature, but he’s not ruling it out.<\/p>\n

Not much information about the plot-line of ‘Avatar 2’ has been released. But Cameron has expressed interest in exploring the other moons of Polyphemus and widening the universe. Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver are expected to reprise their roles from the original film in the sequel.<\/p>\n
