According to The Hollywood Reporter, LeBeouf went all out to prepare for his role in the upcoming crime comedy “The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman,” which is now in postproduction. The film is directed by Fredrik Bond and is scheduled to be released at Sundance next year. The film also stars Mads Mikkelsen, Rupert Grint and Evan Rachel Wood.<\/p>\n
LeBeouf admires actors who dive into their characters completely. He said: “There’s a way to do an acid trip like Harold & Kumar, and there’s a way to be on acid. What I know of acting, Sean Penn actually strapped up to that (electric) chair in Dead Man Walking. These are the guys that I look up to.”<\/p>\n
The 26-year-old “Transformers” star actually came to set high one day during filming, according to The Hollywood Reporter. While this method of preparation might not be popular with directors, LeBeouf believes in it, and only his performance will tell if it was necessary.<\/p>\n
LeBeouf has also decided to shy away from studio productions in favor of indie films. He says: “I’m done [with studio films]. There’s no room for being a visionary in the studio system.
