The filmmaker revealed his interest in helming a future &#8216;Fast and the Furious&#8217; sequel and the rumored third installment in the &#8216;xXx&#8217; series.<\/p>\n<p>On Cohen&#8217;s IMDB page, it&#8217;s listed he will be returning to the &#8216;xXx&#8217; series to helm the second sequel, the action adventure thriller &#8216;The Return of Xander Cage.&#8217; He launched the series in 2002 with the original &#8216;xXx,&#8217; starring his &#8216;Fast and the Furious&#8217; star, Vin Diesel. Cohen said the second sequel is dormant right now, as he&#8217;s &#8220;waiting for Vin to get his head out of &#8216;Fast and Furious&#8217; sequels.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>When asked on his thoughts on the &#8216;Fast and the Furious&#8217; series, of which he directed the 2001 original, and whether he&#8217;d like to return to the franchise, Cohen said he&#8217;d be happy to make the next sequel. &#8220;No matter what way they twist it, I am still the guy who did the first one and made it what it was. I think that for a series to last ten or twelve years, you have to keep growing,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Cohen added that he doesn&#8217;t know if he would have &#8220;gone to the heist world&#8221; like in the last sequel, last year&#8217;s &#8216;Fast Five.&#8217; &#8220;But the fact that it did $550 million is a compliment to what we started out to do,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The directed also said that he didn&#8217;t like he first couple &#8216;Fast and the Furious&#8217; sequels. &#8220;What I hated about them was that it was just for money, the studio was just milking the cash cow. It&#8217;s a miracle they didn&#8217;t kill it.
