The New York Film Critics Online<\/a> (NYFCO) held its thirteenth annual meeting today at the at the LGBT Center in New York City to vote on its annual awards for the year’s best films. Kathryn Bigelow’s ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ gathered momentum as the NYFCO voted the action drama as the Best Film of 2012, with the helmer and scribe Mark Boal receiving honors for their direction and writing, respectively.<\/p>\n

Daniel Day-Lewis received an award for his portrayal as Abraham Lincoln in Steven Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln.’ French actress Emmanuelle Riva was honored for her performance in Michael Haneke’s drama ‘Amour,’ which was also the NYFCO award winner for Foreign Language film.<\/p>\n

The Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress categories were awarded to Tommy Lee Jones and Anne Hathaway, for their roles in ‘Lincoln’ and Tom Hooper’s ‘Les Miserables.’ Ben Affleck’s ‘Argo’ also received an award for Ensemble Cast.<\/p>\n

The 35-member organization also voted on the following categories:<\/p>\n

Documentary: ‘The Central Park Five’<\/p>\n

Animated Feature: ‘Chico and Rita’<\/p>\n

Breakthrough Performer: Quvenzhan\u00e9 Wallis, ‘Beasts of the Southern Wild’<\/p>\n

Debut as Director: Benh Zeitlin, ‘Beasts of the Southern Wild’<\/p>\n
