So pencil in singer\/songwriter, Josh Doyle (formerly of the UK band The Dumdums) and his self-titled album, which dropped October 22 via CTK Records\/Corporate Ogre Records.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Doyle\u2019s <a href=http:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2012\/11\/13\/josh-doyle-makes-love-cool-again\/>music video<\/a> for the album\u2019s lead single \u201cSolarstorms\u201d covered the pages of Shockya and this month, he is back with an <a href=http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hPyTIwnlfqQ&#038;feature=youtu.be>acoustic version<\/a> for the track, \u201cEveryone\u2019s Alone.\u201d Shot for the \u201cAt: Guitar Center with Harcourt\u201d series at Hollywood Vintage room, the video sheds light on a more soulful side of Doyle unheard in the studio version. While autotune can successfully replace raw talent, few would disagree that that performance is as expressive as when an artist sings with only a guitar and a mic. Doyle upholds this statement.<\/p>\n<p>2012 has proven to be a successful year for Doyle. Guitar Center named him \u201cthe nation\u2019s top undiscovered singer-songwriter\u201d in the brand\u2019s very first singer\/songwriter competition. Beating out more than 17,000 entries, Doyle received a three song EP by Grammy Award- winning producer John Shanks for his victory. The Shanks and Doyle partnership went beyond the prize with Shanks recording a full-length album instead of an EP.
