After closing out January on a rather weak note, \u201cWarm Bodies\u201d could manage to turn things around, even during Super Bowl weekend. Between the persistent promotional campaign and solid reviews, the book-to-film adaptation could wind up matching \u201cThe Woman in Black.\u201d The two certainly aren\u2019t tonal matches, but \u201cWarm Bodies\u201d will tap into the young adult fan base just like anything starring Daniel Radcliffe. This time last year, \u201cThe Woman in Black\u201d opened surprisingly big, taking the #2 spot with $20.9 million and considering \u201cWarm Bodies\u201d doesn\u2019t have a \u201cChronicle\u201d to go up against, it could easily secure #1 with the same intake. Based on \u201cThe Last Stand\u201d and \u201cParker\u2019s\u201d performances, \u201cBullet to the Head\u201d could be in for a rough opening weekend. With a poor marketing effort, \u201cBullet to the Head\u201d might only manage to take a total of $5 million to kick off its run.<\/p>\n

\u201cHansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters\u201d will likely take on the horror genre\u2019s typical 50% weekend one to two drop, but it\u2019s got more than enough of an edge on \u201cMama\u201d to snag that #2 spot with about $10 million. As for \u201cMama,\u201d should \u201cZero Dark Thirty\u201d and \u201cSilver Linings Playbook\u201d hold on as well as expected, it\u2019ll barely keep on top with a $7.5 million weekend three total. With Jennifer Lawrence gaining quite a bit of awards season momentum, \u201cSilver Linings Playbook\u201d will again only endure a minimal decline, perhaps just 25%, which would give it another $7 million. Should \u201cZero Dark Thirty\u201d take a heftier hit again, its $6 million weekend seven haul will only be good enough for #5.<\/p>\n

After a subpar start, \u201cParker\u201d could be heading towards a hefty 50% hit courtesy of abysmal reviews and \u201cBullet to the Head.\u201d However, thanks to its lead on \u201cDjango Unchained\u201d last weekend, $3.5 million could wind up being enough to earn the 7th spot on the top ten, though should \u201cDjango\u201d only lose 35% again, it\u2019ll be right behind with $3.2 million. It\u2019s a sad story, but \u201cMovie 43\u201d might be able to snag that 9th spot courtesy of poor word-of-mouth. If this thing really is on its way to becoming one of the worst of the year, people will want to see it and that might let it hold onto 60% of its opening profits for a $3 million weekend two haul.<\/p>\n

As for #10, with \u201cGangster Squad,\u201d \u201cLes Mis\u00e9rables,\u201d and \u201cBroken City\u201d all neck and neck, it\u2019s just a matter of who falls faster. With \u201cGangster Squad\u201d losing 965 locations, \u201cBroken City\u201d dropping 836 and \u201cLes Mis\u201d losing just 354, it\u2019s clear who\u2019ll have the longer legs. \u201cLes Mis\u201d should have no trouble pulling in another $2.5 million to round out the top ten.<\/p>\n
