I read “On the Road” in high school, thanks to a hippie-ish English substitute teacher. The book was cool, but at the time, I didn’t really like it on the whole. Nowadays, I understand more of the malaise and meaninglessness the books’ characters were running away from, so a re-read is probably in order. <\/p>\n

However, I won’t really have to re-read it in earnest now that the film version of “On the Road” is coming out very soon. The film will be on VOD and in theaters the same day, March 22 and will eventually expand to over 150 playdates as well as being available on demand. <\/p>\n

MTV<\/a> has an exclusive clip from the film based on the popular Jack Kerouac book. In the clip, Garrett Hedlund and Kristen Stewart’s characters Dean and Marylou are sharing a small intimate moment. If you’re a prude, then you might not want to watch the beginning at work. Nothing graphic, but I just thought I’d warn you in case your boss happens to see you looking at a video in which two people are kissing in the back of a car. <\/p>\n

“On the Road” is directed by Walter Salles and also stars Sam Riley, Amy Adams, Tom Sturridge, Danny Morgan, Alice Braga, Elisabeth Moss with Kirsten Dunst and Viggo Mortensen.
