1492 Entertainment has picked up the rights to IDW Publishing’s “Welcome To Hoxford”, the horror comic book mini-series written and drawn by Ben Templesmith, best known for co-writing the vampiric “30 Days Of Night”, which was also been adapted for the film in 2007 starring Josh Hartnet and was directed by David Slade. <\/p>\n

First released in 2008, “Welcome To Hoxford” centers around a doctor, Dr. Jessica Ainley, and a deranged killer mental patient named Ray Delgado, who both find themselves trapped and fighting for their lives alongside other inmates at a private psychiatric institute, against a horde of bloodthirsty werewolves. 1492’s Chris Columbus plans to produce the adaptation, along with partners Michael Barnathan and Mark Radcliffe.<\/p>\n

Besides “Welcome To Hoxford” and his work with “30 Days Of Night”, Templesmith has also penned “Fell” alongside comic legend Warren Ellis for Image Comics, and is a multiple Eisner Award nominee for his own work, which include “Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse” and “Singularity 7”. He is also renowned for his own art, having done the art for Oni Press’s “Wasteland” and several art books of his own. <\/p>\n
