Director Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon have recruited Kristen Connolly (“Revolutionary Road”) to join Chris Hemsworth (“Star Trek”), Anna Hutchison (“Underbelly”), Fran Kranz (“The Village”), Richard Jenkins (“The Visitor”), Bradley Whitford (“Bottle Shock”), and Jesse Williams (“The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2”) for “The Cabin in the Woods”, their twisted and genre-bending horror film. Being done for United Artists, “Cabin” has already started filming according to The Hollywood Reporter. <\/p>\n
Joss Whedon is also producing the film, and Goddard is directing “The Cabin In The Woods”. Co-written by both Whedon and Goddard, the actual storyline as well as the character descriptions from “The Cabin In The Woods” have been withheld by the filmmakers and the studio.<\/p>\n
Whedon says “Finding this ensemble has been very hard and very rewarding, […] Each of the ‘kids’ is unique, fascinating and talented, and like true friends, the group is more than the sum of its parts. These are people you care about, able to go toe to toe with the amazing actors we’ve corralled thus far, and not unpretty in the bargain. I can’t wait to harm them.”<\/p>\n
“The Cabin In The Woods” is slated for release February 5th, 2010, having been moved back from October of 2009. <\/p>\n
