According to Variety<\/em>, Marvel is gathering a group of writers who will help Marvel come up with creative ways to launch its lesser-known properties, such as Black Panther, Cable, Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, Nighthawk and Vision.<\/p>\n

The writers, who will not include high-profile Marvel writers like Justin Theroux, Mark Protosevich and Zak Penn, will receive a salary for the year on the terms that Marvel owns whatever the writers work on during that period.<\/p>\n

Disney, who has had a scribe team since the 1990s, pays their writers up to $50,000. Marvel could double that since Marvel comics such as Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor and Captain America have become such hot properties.<\/p>\n

Marvel’s Iron Man<\/strong>, which starred Robert Downey Jr, earned over $582 million in the worldwide box-office. Iron Man 2<\/strong>, which will star Downey, Mickey Rourke and Scarlett Johansson, is in production and expected to release May 7th, 2010.<\/p>\n

At the end of the year, Marvel has the option to continue a relationship with the scribes.<\/p>\n

The group, whose first members are currently being recruited, is expected to begin tackling projects this year. <\/p>\n
