Fledgeling or aspiring film-makers, who want to take part in this ambitious project, may shoot something personal that portrays Italy in a day.<\/p>\n<p>Several will be the accounts which will describe the multifaceted boot-shaped country in its full beauty and contrasting shades. Each footage will be a tiny piece of the mosaic-documentary that director Gabriele Salvatores (Academy Award winner for Best Foreign Language Film \u2018Mediterraneo\u2019 in 1991) will edit into a full feature.<\/p>\n<p>This documentary, produced by Indiana Production and Rai Cinema, will provide a true snap-shot of Italy in a historical period distinguished by change and will be distributed in movie theatres as well as Rai channel. Needless to say that the project is inspired by \u2018Life in a Day\u2019 made by Ridley Scott in 2010, successfully emulated by \u2018Britain in a Day,\u2019 and \u2018Japan in a Day.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The rules to follow are simple and straightforward: you may use a cellphone in horizontal position or a camera, speaking is allowed but without any additional music or edited sound, the people in the footage must be known directly and can not be strangers; everything must be digital no film footage whatsoever; landscapes can be shot but no logos, and the material has to be authentic, you can not record a pre-existing shooting you kept in cold storage. The footage must be exclusively shot within the day of October 26th and each clip has to be maximum 15 minutes long. Remember to sign the consent form and upload the file by November 17th on the website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.italyinaday.rai.it\">www.italyinaday.rai.it<\/a>\/.<\/p>\n<p>Now is the time to make history in Italian cinema and reprise the Neorealistic grandeur, through a contemporary form of observational cinema.
