Megyn Kelly<\/a>, anchor at Fox News — our first line of defense when it comes to the ‘War on Christmas’ they also invented — will not stand for a Santa Claus that isn’t white.<\/p>\n

It all began when writer Aisha Harris published a piece in Slate<\/em><\/a> about how she felt growing up as an African American with a white Santa. She suggested Santa be a penguin so all children could relate to him.<\/p>\n

On an episode of Fox News’ “The Kelly File,” Kelly address the kids at home (who as Jon Stewart<\/a> deftly pointed out on The Daily Show, probably aren’t actually watching a 10 p.m. news program): “For all you kids watching at home, Santa just is white, but this person is just arguing that maybe we should also have a black Santa.”<\/p>\n

Kelly compares this to those who would say that Jesus Christ was not white, saying that of course he’s white, despite numerous sources stating that Jesus would have been a Jewish man from the Middle East — probably not white.<\/p>\n

Following all the controversy, Kelly eventually conceded that Jesus may not have been white<\/a>, but claims her remarks were “tongue-in-cheek.”<\/p>\n
