The critically acclaimed comedy web series ‘The Louise Log’ is set to return for a third season after receiving overwhelming fan support in a recent successful crowdfunding campaign. The crowdfunding raised over $22,000 for the Shorty Award-nominated show, which was created by Anne Flournoy.<\/p>\n
The news of ‘The Louise Log’s return comes with the announcement of the casting of Morgan Hallett. The Broadway veteran, who has appeared in such shows as ‘Translations’ and ‘Long Day’s Journey Into Night,’ has stepped in as the new title character. The actress joins the series’ veteran cast, including Everett Quinton, Joseph Franchini, Jay Patterson, Wayne Maugans and Jayne Haynes.<\/p>\n
Of Hallett’s casting, Flournoy said: “We knew last summer that the original Louise was not returning, that we’d have to recast and we did. But after one day of shooting with the ‘new’ Louise, it became clear that we needed to re-recast Louise-and on the double. Crew members had started booking other work and the production showed signs of crumbling. The next day Morgan Hallett walked in the door, a godsend – brilliant, beautiful, generous and wicked funny.”<\/p>\n
‘The Louise Log’ is based on the inner life of a real New York City housewife. The title character is a Greenwich Village wife and mother, who has detoured from her life’s dream by the antics of her strong-willed relatives. The series became an underground favorite during its second season, and was praised by diverse supporters, including playwright eve Ensler and Roger Ebert.<\/p>\n
Fans can watch the third season of ‘The Louise Log,’ which will release a new episode every month for at least ten months this year, on YouTube<\/a>.
