\u201cThe Lego Movie\u2019s\u201d run on top may come to a close, but not because \u201cNon-Stop\u201d or \u201cSon of God\u201d blows the box office away and really earns that #1 spot. \u201cLego\u201d is about to move into its fourth weekend out and even though it will continue to stretch its legs, when you\u2019re that far into your run, it just becomes tougher to keep ahead of the new debuts \u2013 even when they\u2019re heading towards mediocre starts.<\/p>\n

\u201cNon-Stop<\/strong>\u201d is poised to be \u201cUnknown\u201d all over again for Liam Neeson, Jaume Collet-Serra and Joel Silver, which would give it about $20 million to start. \u201cSon of God<\/strong>\u201d is a little tougher to predict. The goal is likely a \u201cPassion of the Christ\u201d-sized opening, but there\u2019s no way the movie will come anywhere near $84 million. In fact, it probably won\u2019t even trump \u201cNon-Stop\u2019s\u201d $20 million. \u201cSon of God\u201d is looking at an opening more along the lines of 2012\u2019s \u201cJoyful Noise\u201d with a decent $4,500 per theater average and roughly $15 million to start, letting \u201cLego<\/strong>\u201d hold on to the #2 spot. There\u2019s no way \u201cLego\u201d will take down \u201cNon-Stop,\u201d but if it retains 60% of its weekend three earnings, it will manage to fall in just behind with an $18 million weekend four total.<\/p>\n

Things could get a bit messy with the rest of the box office veterans depending on how far last weekend\u2019s newcomers fall. Even though \u201c3 Days to Kill<\/strong>\u201d opened ahead of \u201cPompeii<\/strong>,\u201d it\u2019s more likely that it will wind up taking the direct hit courtesy of \u201cNon-Stop.\u201d However, even if \u201c3 Days to Kill\u201d sees its opening profits slashed in half and \u201cPompeii\u201d drops just 45%, the former will still stay on top with $6 million while the latter claims just $5.5 million. <\/p>\n

Even though both \u201c3 Days to Kill\u201d and \u201cPompeii\u201d are taking sizable hits, \u201cRobocop<\/strong>\u201d is losing 487 theaters, so it\u2019ll have a tough time bringing down last weekend\u2019s 54% change. Should it dip 50% moving through weekend two, it\u2019ll claim just $5 million, barely keeping ahead of \u201cThe Monuments Men<\/strong>.\u201d Even though that one is moving into its fourth weekend in theaters, it\u2019s maintained minimal percent changes each and every week, suggesting it\u2019ll continue to do the same. If it dips about 45%, it\u2019ll post another $4.5 million, and that\u2019ll absolutely be good enough for the #7 spot. <\/p>\n

\u201cAbout Last Night<\/strong>,\u201d on the other hand, could be in for a devastating drop yet again. It won\u2019t fall another 70.6%, but it is losing 449 theaters, so a 50% drop is possible. Should that be the case, it\u2019ll close out its third weekend by taking another $3.7 million to the bank. It\u2019s highly likely that \u201cRide Along<\/strong>\u201d and \u201cFrozen<\/strong>\u201d will wind up swapping spots. Even though both films have had long runs, \u201cFrozen\u201d is still the stronger contender. Even in its 15th weekend out, there\u2019s a good chance it\u2019ll only drop 35% whereas \u201cRide Along\u201d could lose another 45%. If that is how things play out, \u201cFrozen\u201d will take #9 with just under $3 million while \u201cRide Along\u201d claims #10 with $2.5 million.<\/p>\n
