Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt’s upcoming film, the Warner Bros. sci-fi flick “Edge of Tomorrow,” will be coming June 6 in 2D and 3D in select theaters and IMAX. You might have seen an early trailer for the film during some of your earlier theater experiences, but now we’ve got a brand new teaser, featuring more of the type of futuristic, mind-bending story you can expect from the film. “Edge of Tomorrow” is directed by Doug Liman (“The Bourne Identity,” “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”) and tells the story of a future in which an alien race has taken on Earth’s military and is soundly beating them. Enter an officer who becomes the possible answer between life and death. <\/p>\n

Major William Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop\u2014forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again\u2026and again.<\/p>\n
But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt). And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The film also stars Bill Paxton, Brendan Gleeson, Noah Taylor, Dragomir Mrsic, Charlotte Riley, Jonas Armstrong, Franz Drameh, Masayoshi Haneda and Tony Way. The film’s screenplay is written by Christopher McQuarrie, Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth, based on the novel “All You Need is Kill” by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. <\/p>\n
