According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/thr-esq\/homer-simpson-hologram-at-comic-725830\" target=\"_blank\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, Alki David\u2019s HologramUSA filed a lawsuit last week against 20th Century Fox and Gracie Films. Alki alleges that the 3D representation of the popular Simpsons character that premiered at the San Diego Comic-Con infringes on HologramUSA\u2019s patented system that projects 3D holograms on a stage.<\/p>\n<p>The hologram made its debut July 26 in celebration of The Simpsons\u2019 25th anniversary and to promote the new Simpsons World app. Even though the hologram stunned Comic-Con attendees, it unfortunately had the unintended effect of drawing legal fire from David and HologramUSA. <\/p>\n<p>The hologram technology has been at the center of controversy before, as you might recall from our other articles. To refresh, a suit has been filed against Pulse Entertainment over the technology patent, and earlier this year, a suit was filed concerning the Michael Jackson hologram that debuted at the Billboard Music Awards. <\/p>\n<p>The plaintiffs, which include Musion Das Hologram and Uwe Maass, are looking for damages for willful infringement.
