Trevor and Holly Davidson (Rod Luzzi and Graci Carli) are newlyweds on their way to Florida. They decide to stop at some tourist trap in Cassadaga where Holly wants to get a tarot reading. After a disappointing encounter with a palm reader, they are told by a mysterious homeless black man (insert cliche magical negro that we’ll see again) who tells the couple to seek out “Vjestica” and they’ll know her from the spirits in the trees that will lead them to her. Their car breaks down in front of an old house that happens to be the home of the psychic who calls out to Holly by name and invites her inside. Moments later horrific screaming and Vjestica is shouting in tongues as Holly and Trevor escape.\u00a0 That night at a hotel, Holly starts bleeding heavily and is rushed to the hospital. They find Holly is pregnant, but the heavy bleeding was caused by scar tissue Holly endured when she was young; Trevor has no knowledge of Holly’s past, but is hesitant to ask her.<\/p>\n

The couple then show up at his family home that they plan to live after his parents move out. His parents are excited about the news about the baby, but Trevor’s little sister Marissa (Emily Rogers) is tad concerned as she seems to be the only one noticing that Holly is not herself.\u00a0 Trevor asks his sister to document the pregnancy as he will be too busy caring for his wife and fixing up the house.\u00a0 Marissa asks her friend attending law school to dig up some information on Holly, but hits a dead end since Holly was very secretive about her past. Holly destroys the baby’s nursery, is caught grabbing her father in law’s junk, and drinking wine heavily. A woman claiming to be Holly’s aunt\u00a0shows up to the baby shower and Holly violently attacks her.\u00a0Marissa attempts to confront Holly while she is taking a bath and smoking, only to be kissed passionately by Holly and then shouted at in tongues.\u00a0 After some more digging, Marissa discovers an amulet the couple had taken from Vjestica which is connected to a demon legend involving infertility and sacrifice.\u00a0 After one more violent act by Holly, Marissa convinces her brother to go back to Cassadaga to seek out the meaning of the amulet and hopefully save Holly and the baby.<\/p>\n

The Good:\u00a0 The acting was good. The plot was interesting, but it lacked focus. The two annoying cousins (Jarod Valvo & Towns W. Sanford) were a sort of comic relief to the story because every family has them.<\/p>\n

The Bad: This film was more like a dramatic retelling of Hell Baby. There’s a psychic witch named Vjestica. Uh-oh, the name Vjestica just exploded amongst inner city and teen moms. With a name that sounds like a yeast infection remedy, they’ll pounce right on that. The writers apparently aren’t aware of HIPAA guidelines, or else they would know that the Dr wouldn’t be able to speak with Trevor without Holly’s consent, regardless he’s the husband. Seriously, do your homework. Trevor and Marissa’s shitty parents just leave their teenage daughter behind after they’ve had enough of Holly’s craziness. The original title of this film was “Copiii: The 1st Entry” which kind of hints that they were intending on making sequels (more like a porno title), which they definitely could do, but I don’t see the point. The ending was very disappointing. Vajasil<\/span> The creepy old lady shows up in the delivery room and then we see Marissa with a shaved head in the nuthouse. Also don’t get too attached to the dog.<\/p>\n

I had to actually watch this film twice to catch everything I missed the first time around, which is a lot.\u00a0 There was much they could’ve done with this film, but in the end it was all over the map. I don’t care how much you say love your wife or husband, everybody has limits. How could Trevor marry someone he knew almost nothing about and then stuck by her side when she goes berserk. I love my spouse, but I would kick their ass out if they started murdering our pets and speaking in tongues.\u00a0 The Devil Incarnate does have a creep factor, and I might watch it again if nothing else was on.<\/p>\n
