Salinger&#8217;s life is being explored through the lives of two teenagers in &#8220;Coming Through the Rye.&#8221; Chris Cooper has been tapped to play the legendary American author. The film is written by the Emmy Award-winning Jim Sadwith; this film is also Sadwith debut in the film director&#8217;s chair. <\/p>\n<p>The film is based on Sadwith&#8217;s own obsession with Salinger, with Sadwith&#8217;s own search told through the eyes of two teenagers. During their search for Salinger, the teens learn more about themselves and how they relate to the world. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The story is a coming-of age drama set in 1969 involving two teenagers, Alex Wolff (Hair Brained, A Birder&#8217;s Guide to Everything) and Stefania Owen (The Carrie Diaries, The Lovely Bones) as they search for J. D. Salinger. Based on Sadwith\u2019s own quest to find Salinger and his encounters with the reclusive author, the story is about a sensitive boy, a quirky girl and the road they travel to find not only Salinger but also friendship and the truth about themselves.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Coming Through the Rye&#8221; is produced by Sadwith, Teddy Grennan and Stan Erdreich.
