NBC threw their hat in the apocalyptic mismash of horror and detective work with “Constantine,” based on DC Comics’ comic book series. Fans are not sure if the show is safe from cancellation or not, since The Hollywood Reporter states that “Constantine” will end its season run after 13 episodes.<\/a> But the show is up for a second season, despite it seeming like “Constantine” is struggling to find a strong foothold. TV by the Numbers’ Cancellation Bear cites “Constantine” as being a sure-thing for eventual cancellation<\/a>. <\/p>\n

So what can “Constantine” fans expect from this news? It’s been announced that after the show finishes its first season run and after which, NBC will use the spot for either a new midseason drama or its tumblr-popular drama about cannibalism and serial-killing, “Hannibal.” The key takeaway from this for fans is that “Constantine” hasn’t been cancelled by NBC. From my viewpoint, the decision to cut the first season to 13 might have something to do with the popularity of the first season of “Sleepy Hollow,” which was also 13 episodes. That number seems to be right amount of episodes to keep storytelling tight and world-building on a progressive forward march, since Season Two of “Sleepy Hollow” has seen more episodes, but much more stagnation in terms of world-building and character development. Even still, one has to wonder what its Season Two prospects look like from a realistic perspective. <\/p>\n
