“In the Heart of the Sea” is coming to greet adventurous theater-goers in theaters and IMAX March 13 and this Ron Howard-directed film looks like the best film yet to come from Howard in terms of the scope and magnitude of the film. “In the Heart of the Sea” stars Chris Hemsworth as the first mate of the whaling ship Essex, one of the ship’s crew who witnesses the whale that would inspire a legendary tale. <\/p>\n
“In the winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and will, and an almost human sense of vengeance. The real-life maritime disaster would inspire Herman Melville\u2019s Moby-Dick. But that told only half the story. \u201cIn the Heart of the Sea\u201d reveals the encounter\u2019s harrowing aftermath, as the ship\u2019s surviving crew is pushed to their limits and forced to do the unthinkable to stay alive.
