Cam Gigandet hasn’t met a group of rabid “Twilight” and “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” fans he can’t take in a fight, and he proves it in his new video on FunnyOrDie.com. In the clip, a group of tween girls decide to fight the actor who plays evil vampire James, even though he warns them that they shouldn’t take on a man who’s won the MTV Movie Award for Best Fight and is nominated again this year.<\/p>\n
“This skit that we’re shooting today is about a group of ‘Twilight’ fans who are at a book reading,” the actor told MTV News on the set of “Cam Gigandet vs. Twilight Fans.” “And they \u2014 well, I stumble across them, and they recognize me, and then drama ensues.”<\/p>\n
The “Twilight” star jokingly added that in real life, he doesn’t mind having tweens follow him around wherever he goes. Unlike in the skit, however, he doesn’t usually end up getting into epic, bloody battles with them.<\/p>\n
“It’s great. I love having young girls chase me everywhere I go. … It’s a little bit of validation I guess,” he added. “I had no idea ‘Twilight’ was going to actually be as big as it is. I mean it’s shocking. It’s kind of awesome that it got as much fame as it did, you know, and all the actors in it had a success. That was kind of great.”<\/p>\n
Gigandet won Best Fight last year for “Never Back Down,” no doubt in part because of the “Twilight” fans who were already voting for him months before they saw the vampire film. A clip of his “Twilight” fight with Robert Pattinson’s Edward made its world premiere during the Movie Awards that year.<\/p>\n
“It was a little shocking last year,” he said. “I had no idea and it was kinda awesome and this year to be nominated for a second time is just as cool.”<\/p>\n
At this year’s show, Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner (who are all also up for awards) will be presenting a clip from the “Twilight” sequel “New Moon.”<\/p>\n
