The continuously developing visceral emotions that are meant to comfort people during times of self-defined evolutions in society can often times make those who have persistently been certain of their reality instead see their lives begin to gradually unravel. While securing and guaranteeing the safety of society’s future culture is a seemingly powerful motivation to change and dictate people’s actions and sentiments, the diverse and ambitious members of every community often thrive within their own established identity. The commanding Canadian industrial rock band, The Unravelling, is once again powerfully questioning whether people should assuredly follow society’s expectations, or follow their own instincts in approaching their lives, in their new single, ‘Master Drone.’ Set to be released this Wednesday, July 8, the follow-up song to their latest single, ‘Revolt<\/a>,’ is another emotional journey that challenges the restrictive burdens society places on people, as they’re encouraged to unquestionably assimilate into civilization.<\/p>\n

The Calgary-based metal band, which intriguingly takes influences from such commanding bands as Tool and NIN, captivatingly launches into ‘Master Drone’ through Gustavo de Beauville’s menacing and dark 30 second instrumentals. The gripping opening production powerfully leads into Steve Moore’s insightful lyrics that will undoubtedly make listeners question how much they truly fit into society, and whether the world around them really values their individuality. The classic heavy metal vocals enthrallingly emphasize how much the world is changing, and question if people are truly prepared to move into the next stage of their lives.<\/p>\n

Moore also intensely notes that people are dancing like a marionette through their lives, as they’re being controlled and told how to live by society. Like a master drone that sets out to explore unfamiliar ways of life, the singer notes that people are trying to explore new ways to break out from the control they’re under. Moore also grippingly notes that he knows that it’s like to stand alone in society, as he won’t easily assimilate into the stereotypes that society has prescribed for him. ‘Master Drone’ insightfully ends with the vocalist insisting that while people are trying to tell him how to live, he has nothing left to be taught, and is affirming his stance to live the way he wants.<\/p>\n

Much like its philosophical single ‘Revolt,’ The Unravelling once again compelling infused its spellbinding determination to stand behind its beliefs into its new personally insightful song, ‘Master Drone.’ Moore and de Beauville’s alluring unwillingness to compromise their beliefs powerfully exudes throughout the relatable message of their latest generation-defining song. The rock-metal band’s gratifying willingness to defy the idea that everyone must willingly submit to society’s ideas proves that people have the right to take full control of their lives. While people do have to work to achieve their goals and happiness in their lives, ‘Master Drone’ is another significant reminder that not everyone has to feel satisfied living under the influence of society’s pre-set expectations.<\/p>\n
