The harrowing descent into the downfalls of your rising success is powerfully showcased in ‘The Bronx Boy,’ Shockya’s exclusive clip for the independent boxing drama, ‘The Challenger.’<\/p>\n

The clip supports the upcoming home distribution of the action movie, which was initially unveiled this past September in a limited theatrical release at Regal Cinemas. The film is set to also be distributed on VOD and DVD on Tuesday by Freestyle Digital Media.<\/p>\n

‘The Challenger’ marks the feature film directorial debut of its writer, actor and producer, Kent Moran<\/a>. The New York filmmaker relied on his own personal experience and love of boxing to accomplish his goal of helming a feature film that in part emphasizes the struggles of his community.<\/p>\n

Freestyle Digital Media has released the following synopsis for ‘The Challenger’:<\/p>\n

When they are evicted from their home, struggling Bronx auto mechanic Jaden Miller (Moran) will do everything in his power to save himself and his mother (S. Epatha Merkerson) from living on the streets. With the help of legendary trainer, Duane Taylor (the late Oscar-nominated actor, Michael Clarke Duncan, in his final film role), Miller soon finds that boxing is their ticket to a better life. Earning the title “Bronx Boy,” Miller becomes a local hero. After winning a big fight, a cable network takes notice and decides to give Miller his own TV show, The Challenger, which will follow him all the way to the Light-Heavyweight Title.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
