The third installment of the Divergent series. Hold your horses, there’s still one more left. Tris (Shailene Woodley, The Fault in Our Stars<\/em> ) and Four (Theo James, Underworld: Awakening<\/em>)\u00a0are leading a team consisting of Caleb (Ansel Elgort, Carrie<\/em> reboot), Christina (Zo\u00eb Kravitz,\u00a0Mad Max: Fury Road\u00a0<\/em>), Tori (Maggie Q, Nikita<\/em>), and Peter (Miles Teller,\u00a0Fantastic Four<\/em>\u00a0reboot)\u00a0over the city wall to see what mysteries lurk beyond Chicago. \u00a0There they are rescued by members of the\u00a0Bureau of Genetic Welfare lead by David (Jeff Daniels, The Newsroom<\/em>). They are all given positions based on their genetic purity and of course Tris is truly pure. \u00a0Caleb is given the position to watch the goings on in Chicago and discovers that Four’s mother Evelyn (Naomi Watts<\/a>, Funny Games<\/em>\u00a0) and her Allegient are waging a war against Johanna (Octavia Spencer, The Help<\/em>\u00a0) and her collected Factionless. \u00a0Tris and Four discover that their new home has a dark past and they must stop the factions from destroying everyone in Chicago.<\/p>\n

The Good: The CG effects are good and there’s some decent action.\u00a0Bill Skarsg\u00e5rd is easy on the eyes.<\/p>\n

The Bad: \u00a0It’s redundant. It’s the same plot as the other two films, with the original being the best of the three because at least that one was (sort of) original. \u00a0I don’t get how these tweeny books get made into film and they think they can sucker the public into seeing 3+ films of the same damn story but calling them by a different name. What are you doing? Put your money away! Stay home. There is an overkill of green screen; they might as well had made this an animated film with the amount of visual effects.<\/p>\n

The special features are lackluster at best. The commentary with the producers are ass-kissy and dry. I would advise a pass on purchasing this Blu-Ray. \u00a0At least now with the poor reception from this film, the studios wised up and are releasing the 4th film straight to TV. Why waste any more money on this sinking ship?<\/p>\n
