The protagonists of the 2014 hit thriller, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2014\/10\/22\/the-houses-october-built-movie-review\/\">The Houses October Built<\/a>,&#8217; are seeing clues that their tormentors are pursuing them again in the upcoming sequel. The characters&#8217; fright is being chronicled in &#8216;<strong>The Houses October Built 2<\/strong>,&#8217; whose North American distribution rights have been acquired by <strong>RLJE Films<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shockya.com\/news\/2017\/05\/25\/joe-lynch-mayhem-north-america-rlj-entertainment-shudder\/\">RLJ Entertainment<\/a> brand is set to release the horror film in theaters and On Demand in September 2017. The news of the follow-up&#8217;s acquisition was announced today by Mark Ward, RLJE&#8217;s chief acquisitions officer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The Houses October Built 2&#8217; was co-written by Zack Andrews and <strong>Bobby Roe<\/strong>, who also co-scribed the original movie together. The latter also helmed the drama, after he made his feature film directorial debut on the previous entry in the horror series. Roe and Andrews also reprise their roles in the second installment, alongside fellow returning cast members Brandy Schaefer, Mikey Roe and Jeff Larson.<\/p>\n<p>Andrews also served as a producer on the project with Steven Schneider. Ward and Jess De Leo negotiated the acquisition deal with Andrews, on behalf of the filmmakers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re excited to once again work with these familiar and committed filmmakers to make &#8216;The Houses October Built 2&#8217; a success,&#8221; said Ward. &#8220;The first film built a strong following and we&#8217;re confident this second installation of the series will not only be seen by fans, but it will also attract new legions of horror enthusiasts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In &#8216;The Houses October Built 2,&#8217; five friends try to recover from the trauma of being kidnapped last Halloween by the Blue Skeleton \u2013 a group who takes extreme haunt to another level &#8211; by facing their fears in order to move on.
